General Statement of Duties: 

The Telecommunications Video Systems Engineer coordinates the planning, administration, and implementation of corporate-wide telecommunication services in order to improve productivity and minimize costs. The position is responsible for maintaining the function of the telephone and video systems company wide.

Essential Duties:

  1. Interfaces with user management to ensure that the telephone and video systems adequately meet present and future needs.
  2. Matches usage and load patterns with a proper network design to enhance the efficiency and reduce the cost of telecommunications operations.
  3. Coordinates technical assistance to resolve telecommunication operational problems in order to promote effective system operations.
  4. Plans and coordinates installation of telecommunications and video systems to ensure effective system implementation and maximize user convenience.
  5. Recommends appropriate hardware systems and software packages in order to promote cost-effective communications. 
  6. Identifies financial impact of changes in the telecommunications industry in order to assist management in maximizing long-term corporate effectiveness.
  7. Plans and schedules the appropriate resources to ensure efficient development and completion of communication projects. 
  8. Trains and develops peers and less experienced telecommunications personnel in voice and data applications to enhance department productivity. 
  9. Develops a personal continuing education program to promote more effective methods and introduce new technology. 
  10. Assists with other challenges including training personnel and providing improve customer service in the midst of conflicting priorities and rapid technological developments.

ADP, Halogen, Microsoft Office, Active Directory

Job Requirements


  • Associate's degree in a related field (Information Technology) required
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer certification required
  • Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician certification preferred
  • 4 - 6 years of experience required; 6-8 preferred
