Position Summary:

All clinical care provided by the Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will be within the scope of the duties assigned by the supervising OrthoIndy Physician. The Advanced Practice Provider must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about patient care. Daily duties include seeing patients in clinic in an out-patient setting at one of three OrthoIndy locations. The provider will be responsible for obtaining an H&P, performing a clinical exam, ordering and interpreting radiological and laboratory studies, and responding to patient's phone messages. There are no call duties, no nights, no weekends, no Holidays.

Essential Duties:

  1. Assesses patients and assesses normal and abnormal findings obtained from history and physical examination as well as radiology and ancillary studies.
  2. Orders radiologic and laboratory tests and studies as necessary to complete history and physical examinations.
  3. Plans and implements care of patients, including; EMR documentation, ordering additional studies, communicates with supervising Physician and additional staff, and prescribing appropriate medications.
  4. Helps to counsel individuals and families about their health related issues.
  5. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.

Job Requirements


  • NCCPA or AANP certification required
  • Indiana PA Committee or Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • 1-2 years of Advanced Practice Provider experience strongly preferred
